Since being back, Dominique and I have been discussing why we like doing tasks such as knitting and cracking open pecans without the nut inside breaking (though admittedly, I am a little more obssessed with both than she is).

We have concluded that for the work we do (ie campus ministry)...we are supposed to build and impart character into others...intangible work to say the least...and the thing is, its not even really us that is doing it, but its God. So we're working at an intangible work that's not even really OUR work.

Hence....AHHHHHHHHHH...sigh of relief...we can knit and produce a scarf...and we can crack open pecans and produce whole pecan nuts for a pecan pie.

The joys of simple and tangible works of our hands. Praise God ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So...since its past midnight and I'm up anyways while my mom is watching Star Wars Episode III, my dad is fast asleep nursing a cold, and my sister is baking a cake for tomorrow's party...I shall post our first family pictures of the new year.

Family seems to always be remembered and treasured during the holiday season. I'm just one of the many that realizes what a wonderful gift my family is. Its been tradition for the four of us to always be together as a family at midnight when the new year begins...and so I enjoy these midnight moments while I still can share it with them!

Disclaimer: My family is faaaarrr from normal :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful new year! And I hope everyone's as excited as I am for what God has in store for 2006!

Have you ever had a moment when all of a sudden you freak out at what God is calling you to do...and your mind races with the thoughts "God this is crazy, ridiculous, and overall completely illogical and impossible."?

And then God reminds you that He's a pretty big God and that he wants you to give him all your anxieties in exchange for a peace that passes all understanding. And then you realize that God really is such a supernatural God because there is no possible way  that you could ever be at peace with such a thing if it werent for Him and his supernatural power.

Yeah...I had one of those moments today :)

"Yet I know when my eyes fail to see

He is able

Even though it seems impossible to me

He is able

And if he chooses not to move in the way we prayed He would

I’m confident He is working altogether for my good

And I will stand behind His word…for He is able. "

On another note: I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas!

Merry Christmas from the Alcazarens.....

...and the Christmas pig...(lol...I hope this doesnt gross you out too much...I edited most of it out, but those are its ears) Dont ask...its a Filipino thing ;)

"If only you had paid attention to my commands,

your peace would have been like a river,

your righteousness like the waves of the sea." Is. 48:18

Hmm....

So what does it mean to have peace like a river and righteousness like the waves of the sea?

(Yeah...I'm into the visuals lately) :)
